Secret Santa Delivery delivered on 12/25

[ For Nora's Secret Santa gift, there will be two packages; one a small platter of assorted cookies and brownies, and the other is a longer package, which has the entire first series (four books) in graphic novel form of your token female action hero vs token villain with lots and lots of intrigue, not so much romance, and explosions! ]

[ It's not that he was participating in any secret santa things or anything like that. It's more like, he considered them to be at the very least potential friends. And as potential friends he wanted to make sure she was bundled up nicely.

So in front of her door there was a box with a note attached. ]

To Nora Valkyrie:

I don't really celebrate this holiday back home myself, but I felt like it would be a wasted opportunity not to send you something. It's getting chilly out and I'd hate for you to catch a cold. I hope you enjoy these gifts and have a happy holiday.

[ Inside the box if she chooses to open it is a pair of gloves, ear muffs, and a cute scarf! But not only that, there is a plate of home made curry inside the box as well. ]

[ it's valentine's day, and weiss has heard all about it from people from earth! she doesn't have a significant other, but it's apparently okay to celebrate with friends, so that's what weiss decides to do. she wakes up really, really early to decorate their house to surprise her former classmates.

and so, when nora leaves her room, she'll that the floor has been decorated with red, yellow, white, and pink rose petals. right in front of her door, too, is a small vase of pink and orange flowers. along with it is a card that reads: ]

Valentine's Day is a annual holiday celebrated by people from Earth. It is honours with love and romance, but has lately been a day to commemorate friendship, as well.

[schmisse]

[ nora wouldn't write a love letter to weiss as a prank, right?? that's just— no. that's not nora???

not that weiss would know. she can be pretty mischievous, after all. and she did talk about breaking people's legs once? that was a joke, right? so nora takes her jokes to the next level, right?

oh god. ]

Hey, Nora? Do you know what this is? [ she waves a folded piece of paper high enough for nora to see. ] I found it in the mail.

[kaboop]

[Nora turns around and looks at the paper, blinking. She seems genuinely clueless.]

Is it an invitation? To a party?

[schmisse]

It's... [ she starts out strong, but then she looks away and frowns. ] a love letter.

[She gasps dramatically.]

A...a love letter?!

[kaboop]

[Then she slides a bit closer to Weiss, bouncing a bit too eagerly on her heels and clapping her hands softly.]

Ooh, who's it from? What does it say? Do you have a secret admirer, Weiss?

[kaboop]

...Wait, if you already know it's a love letter, why are you asking me what it is?

[NORA...]

[schmisse]

It was a trap to see if you were the one who wrote it or not!

[ and clearly, nora isn't responsible for it!! that answers that. ]

[kaboop]

...

Nnnnnope. Wasn't me. [Just. This big goofy but genuinely innocent grin.] Does the handwriting ring a bell?

[schmisse]

No, and I'm not going to ask everyone I know if they can show me proof of their handwriting, either.

[ maybe she should just ignore it... what good would taking action do, anyway? what good would finding out who wrote it do? ]

I don't know. Just be on your guard, I guess.

[kaboop]

[Nora drops the grin and strokes her chin.]

You think it might be a prank? [Not...a real love letter?]

[schmisse]

[ oh my god that's EVEN WORSE ]

Why would anybody think this is a clever prank?!

[kaboop]

I dunno, maybe they weren't going for "clever"!

[THROWS UP HER HANDS.]

Just "prank".

[schmisse]

Well, it's a terrible prank!

[ ok but weiss why are you getting mad at nora? ]

[kaboop]

It's not my fault someone's a terrible prankster!

[YEAH WEISS IT'S NOT NORA'S FAULT. Wasn't this established already.]

[schmisse]

[ her expression turns wry from nora's voice. weiss did raise her voice first so it's understandable. ugh... ]

Sorry, I didn't mean to shout. Nothing's funny about this at all, that's all. And I'm kind of wondering if I should be watching my step wherever I go.

[kaboop]

[Nora backs off as well when Weiss does, and her eyes flick toward the love letter again.]

...Can I read it? Either it's a joke, or someone likes you but is way too shy to sign it.

Buuuut I don't think they'd mean trouble.

[schmisse]

[ she already showed the others, may as well let nora have a crack at it too. ]

[With a swift movement, she snatches up the paper and scans it, pouting thoughtfully...]

[kaboop]

[While reading, however, she has to bite her lip to keep from laughing out loud.

"Lady" Weiss? "A pillow whisper away from you"??]

Pffft...

["perfect like an eternal ice sculpture"... "it would be worth getting my face stuck on it"... It's getting harder and harder for Nora and she actually snorts before finally breaking into peals of laughter.]

Seriously?! No wonder they didn't sign it!

[In between chortles, she thrusts the letter back to Weiss.]

[schmisse]

[ yeah... it's really embarrassing. . . the colours in weiss slowly turn dull until she's grey. ]

If they were already being honest, they should have signed it. Now this is just going to bother me until I figure out who it's from, you know?

[kaboop]

[Weiss' color change reminds Nora a bit too much of Ren's Semblance, so she pauses for a full two seconds before answering her.]

Whoever wrote that letter probably didn't think of that. Do the others know about it?

[By "others" Nora means housemates.]

I'm just about to ask Pyrrha and Jaune about it.
