[The glow emanating from Nora slowly ebbs away, although she still seems to be shining faintly. Indeed, everything seems right with the world, like this was how it should be. Team JNPR should always be together.
Nora laughs sheepishly.]
Both of us did, yeah. After I caused a minor earthquake. But I didn't break anything! Anyway, it was Steven who told me over telepathy that he found Ren and was bringing him over to our house, then I went down and - and Ren was there! And that's when the flowers started popping up.
[The words tumble out of her mouth one after the other, in a very excited babble. Her excitement though, has an air of warmth to it.]
[ Internally, she thinks she'll need to have to thank Steven for that later. It's nice to know that someone is looking out for Nora, especially considering how long she was here without her full team.
Also? Nora's babbling excitement? IT'S ADORABLE.
More juniper berries bloom as they continue down the walkway. ]
Aaaand, how was the reunion?
[ hopefully with less tears, misery, fighting and necessary third party interventions than the first month of arkos ]
[Some of those berries may or may not be blooming in part because of Nora, who finally pauses from babbling excitedly to just...take a deep breath and beam as if a huge weight has finally been taken off her chest.]
It feels like...the wait was worth it. Really worth it.
[It felt like forever, but Nora knew it would never be forever. They would always find their way back to each other again.]
It was strange, knowing you were here and he wasn't.
[ It's an odd sort of confession. Not quite somber. It shouldn't deteriorate Nora's sadness any, of course. It was the truth, once; now, Ren's presence is. ]
For as long as I've known you - the both of you - you've been a set.
[ Nora without Ren? What madness is this? ] ... Now, that you're both here, it feels a bit like everything may get back to normal. [ ... or, normal enough. It's not like this is home for anyone but Pyrrha herself. ]
[On top of being sad, it felt so strange, even though Nora had long been acclimatized to people coming and going from this island.
And it was true! Nora and Ren had been a set for a long time; sometimes it was hard for Nora to remember what it was like without Ren in her life. It had been harder than people thought, for Nora to go on without Ren. She could, and she did, but she'd really rather not.
She breathes in, and lets it out slowly.]
Despite emotions still going nuts, living on a floating island, talking over telepathy...yeah, it feels a lot more normal now.
[ Honestly, it's strong sign of Nora's inner strength. For months, perhaps close to a year, she had continued on without her partner and childhood friend - never complaining, sorting out the mess that was her team - with all the brightness with which she lived. Nora's ability to continue to live and love, to shine brightly and continue to smile, it's heartening; and inspiring.
... Pyrrha holds onto Nora's arm a little tighter. ]
What do you think was the strangest thing to have happened to you, here?
[Hold on to her as tightly as you need, gal pal. They continue onward as Nora thinks back. She's been here for nearly a year. Many things have happened to her since then; it's hard to think of one that was particularly strange.
However...]
I think it was the time...Steven and I thought we were family and came from the same world. [A pause.] Not that it was a bad thing, but...it was so weird.
[ Offhandledly. Pyrrha hates the idea that she might have been too wrapped up in her own drama and pain to really pay attention to what Nora was going through.
That stops here, she decides. ]
I'd like to hear the whole story, if you don't mind sharing it.
[Generally Nora doesn't really mind sharing her story; the only time she minds, actually, is when she feels that she might be imposing too much on the listener.]
Well...I don't know how it started, I just woke up one day, and thought that Steven adopted me, and we lived with our Pokemon. And I was super convinced that that was my life. Taking care of Pokemon, training them...
