Me? A policeman? I can see why you'd think that, heh...
[ It's not that different from being a Huntsman, and yet being a Huntsman is all he ever wanted. Besides, if he couldn't make it into that field, he always figured he'd fail as a lawman or a soldier, too.
He'd also probably go to jail for faking his transcripts in those scenarios. ]
It wasn't anything so exciting, really. I was just... gonna be a farmer or something... I mean, it's a lot harder to mess up than defending the innocent, right?
A farmer? [At first, Nora feels like that hit her out of left field. But she recovers, the flicker of surprise in her eyes gone.]
Actually...I think I can see it. You'd be really good at figuring out what grows best where and taking care of the crops. [Still, in her point of view, farming was not as easy as it looked.] And it's a job that's a big help to a lot of people!
I'd often wonder if I would've been better off just doing that, but... I don't feel that way anymore. Beacon may not have been what I dreamed it'd be, but thanks to my time there, I can see how good things can be.
[ One can learn quite a lot from experiencing both extremes of pain and happiness. He doesn't think he would have had the same perspective if he went on to become a farmer. ]

...Eeeexcept for this. This job, right here, is officially the worst.
[His reaction elicits a soft laugh from Nora. But he's right - Nora had seen how harsh the world could be, and how good it could be, from Beacon, to Mistral, to Empatheias.]
Heh, yeah, I'm getting bored out of my mind. But you said you've seen how good things can be while you're here...why don't you talk about those? The good things. While we're waiting for something to happen. [Nora leans back, folding her arms behind her head and stretching out her legs.]
I see... people with different backgrounds, from completely different places, not just working or co-existing together. They really connect with each other, they understand how the other person feels.
[ There's a reason it's called Empatheias. ]
There are no wars or discrimination here. Some few bad people, sure, but maybe they can change someday, too? And yeah, we still have monsters and some... gods, but for the most part, everyone's living fairly happily here. Don't see too many folks dying to go back to their world, you know?
[She rests her elbow on her knee, and drums her fingers on her cheek while listening to Jaune.]
Mmm, yeah, people work better together here. And it goes without saying that there are both good and bad people, but the bad people...they don't always cause the really catastrophic stuff, and they're always outnumbered by those who want to help.
...I still want to go back home 'cause we have unfinished business, but I don't mind taking a really extended vacation if it's gonna be on Empatheias.
